Chuck McShane is no stranger to his fellow members. A three-time president of the Niagara Home Builders Association, McShane is renowned for his passion, energy and dedication to his local and provincial associations. A powerful voice for the home building industry, he has travelled the province promoting careers in skilled trades to youth and advocating to the College of Trades for apprenticeship reform.
It’s a long way from McShane’s humble beginnings in the industry, for which he credits his wife Tatjana. “She was reading the newspaper and noticed a Sears Canada ad looking for storm door installers,” McShane relates. “I had a pickup truck and an old drill, so she encouraged me to start my own business. Before too long the business was doing well enough that I could quit my day job, and I’ve never looked back since. For a guy who didn’t even have a high school education, I couldn’t have imagined where I’d be 20 years later.”CONTINUE READING
The Steve Ludzik Foundation held its fifth annual Ludzy’s Charity Golf Classic at Thundering Waters Golf Club in Niagara Falls on Thursday.
The tournament, along with Ludzy’s Charity Roast, helps sustain one of the few facilities in Canada dedicated to combating the physical effects of Parkinson’s Disease.
Former Chicago Blackhawks forward and Tampa Bay Lightening head coach Steve Ludzik, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2000, has worked tirelessly over the last decade to raise funds and awareness for the disease. He established the Steve Ludzik Centre for Parkinson’s Rehab at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. Catharines.

A leader and key contributor to the construction sector in Niagara for nearly four decades, Chuck has been a successful businessman as well as serving on the Niagara Home Buildersâ€™ Association Board for 20 years, holding the position of Board President for four terms.
Chuck's dedication has been formally recognized by both the regional and provincial Home Builders™ Associations. He is the only non-builder/developer to win the prestigious Ontario Home Builders™ Association Member of the Year Award and is a two-time winner of the Niagara Home Builders Association's Member of the Year Award.
Chuck McShane's tremendous work ethic extends far beyond the construction industry. He works tirelessly for charitable organizations in Niagara including the Steve Ludzik Foundation which has raised more than $500,000 to support the Steve Ludzik Centre for Parkinsons Rehab as well as helping organize Hockey Night in St. Catharines which has raised more than $1 million for local charities. Whenever Chuck is asked to help his community, he delivers.
Chuck has been married to his wife Tatjana for 25 years and is the proud father of three girls and two granddaughters.
